Agricultural Background

CMS UK has a strong agricultural base and was set up in 1997 by the now Managing Director Mr Peter Darlington, along with his Co-Director Nicola Darlington, to generate a new source of business income.

The Darlington's have been dairy farming at Spring Farm for five generations; Peter's great grand father and grand parents bought Spring Farm in 1947.

In setting up CMS UK and converting the old dairy, cow shippon and farm buildings, Peter and Nicola anticipated other opportunities and have fully embraced the principal of farm diversification. The redundant shippon was a perfect object for agricultural diversification, so vigorously encouraged at this time by the Government and EU funding.

Today as CMS UK Managing Director, in addition to his auditing and consultancy work, Peter still maintains his farming interests with a small sheep flock and rearing pedigree Charolais cattle as beef breeding stock.
